Love -A Forgotten Tune
I met my love when the sky was blue and the day bright
Nights were star studded and the moon was full
Butterflies stole the kisses of roses and took their flight
Enchanting evenings like poetry and days delightful
The clouds of her hair locks covered my shoulders
Our breaths intermingled with each other
Carefree and oblivious of anguish that hinders
And restrains pure hearts from life’s adventure
The moments flew on the wings of days and years
The gain or loss of relationship we never searched
True spirit of giving is what endears
We enjoyed the music of love with our identities merged
One day when the sky was overcast the strings of guitar broke
The flame of delusion engulfed the melody of love
Astounding were her words to me she thus spoke
From my heart’s open cage flew the tranquil dove
Glow neither to eyes I am nor repose to any heart
I am a tomb that no one visits to place a bouquet or pray
My anguished soul is hunted by the apathy’s lethal dart
Melancholy, forlorn and disenchanted, how long I must stay
