Love Came Home

Love Came Home
One day love left never said a word just walked out the door no reason why it had to go, no sense as to why I had to be broke in soul and left crumpled on the floor.

Took all I had, my dreams and hopes, left behind despair and empty cheer, years of bliss untold happiness tossed away like dust a fine forgotten mist.
Then out the blue with no word or warning love came back walked in the door, no sorry or sorrow for where it had been just came back in like a long lost friend.

Brought back all the spring and summer days, the birds singing in green leafed covered tree’s, fields of blossom honey suckle smell waft on by as love came back home.

Promised never to leave again though said some day’s it may seem far away, said I’d never be alone as this was now its home, Spent the time laughing at jokes that were not that funny.

Night has fallen and on a feather down pillow ensconced on sheets of fine cotton, under a blanket of lavender infused silk love ran gentle fingers over worried brow with warmest breath whispered words to send to sleep.

You’ll always have an ear to hear your tale at end of day, share your worries and give words to lift spirit when shaken low, listen and keep your secrets be more lover and friend. Be not afraid to shed single tear, that will not stop you being a man or me love you less.
