Love In the Dark

Love in the Dark

For an unknown reason,
  all the lights went out
  and you gathered candles to light
the path that we might take.

For some unknown reason
  you took me by the hand 
  and lead me down the hall
the room wherein you sleep alone.

For some unknown reason
  we never spoke a word
  as our hands and arms freely moved
to the drawing of our bodies as one.

For some unknown reason
  we danced and breathed in the warmth
  of that familiar all encompassing love
that we had shared throughout the years.

For some unknown reason
  the act of love took our breaths away
  and the satisfied sigh echoed loudly
as we remained wrapped in love’s embrace.

For some known reason
  the memory was vivid, alive, living
  within the confines of my body, mind and soul
as the lights came in your heart was still mine.
