Love the Chickens
Some chicks
We bought to nest.
Out of them
As they grew up
Three are roosters,
Started crowing.
My wife and I
tending them so fair
our hearts now filled with pain,
to think they'd be slain.
"In coop and yard,
there they dwell.
Eggs we can eat and sell,
roosters will crow at dawn",
I told my wife.
