Lovers Hands In Gloves
LOVERS HANDS IN GLOVES
did those heavy lids close
who could tell
ruby lips pressed
upon
ironing the seams
of hopeful dreams
did you swallow his tongue
or did it wriggle
free
lavishing furs and diamond rings
as the serpentine scales sing
was it all a fairy tale
did he make a wish as your lashes
fell
like dark arrows all around
has your virgin waist turned into a frown
piercing clouds shudder from his eyes
surprising even his own features
the sea of his lips
drip
not with golden honey
but ripped apart and muddy
lovers hands in gloves
black eyes
taking turns
offering screams
nothing as it seems
lives misspent
fitting in a narrow slot
remembering
the brief affair of rosy cheeks
never getting what each one seeks
