Love's Back In Season
Reducing facts to black and white
leaves little room for shades of gray.
And stubbornness leads to a fight;
when neither’s willing to give way.
When shouts instigate a ruckus,
anger regurgitates stale lies.
And when patience abandons us,
we won't back off; till someone cries.
Feelings flare under verbal fire,
fueling harsh looks that could kill.
And there's no escaping our ire;
trickling tears start flowing at will.
Yet, regretting slurs hurled in rage,
time silently restores reason.
And we start acting more our age,
proclaiming; love's back in season.
