Loves Simplicity (A Tribute To James Foulk)
If a bird never spreads its wings
Then it will never fly
Just as when we learn to love
We also learn to cry
If a baby never learns to stand
It will never learn to walk
It’s more important to learn to listen
Than it is to learn to talk
The things that matter most in life
A friend is teaching me
How to not only open up my eyes
But open them to see
He teaches me to love all things
With tender loving grace
Everything that shares this earth
Has a special place
Every time I read James poems
I can clearly see
That the Lords greatest gift of all
Is loves simplicity
James has taught me through his poetry
that love is the simplest of all things, it
is us who over complicate it. It should
quite simply be freely given to all things
for it is much easier on us to love than
it is to hate. His understanding of things
like love, compassion and appreciation
quite simply amaze me.
