Love Poem: MAMA'S SHOES

MAMA'S SHOES

MAMA’S SHOES

I’d like to wear your Mama’s shoes,
slip them on for a while.
Be a Mama figure that might
ease your pain … make you smile.

Her shoes would be hard to fill. She’s
been so giving, so kind.
I’d just try to shuffle around,
take troubles … off your mind.

Like to be her ears that listen,
when need someone to hear.
To be her strong arms holding you,
while hearing … every fear.

Like to be her lips that whisper,
scriptures that calm your heart.
Giving consolation and hope,
leaving strength … when we’d part.

But you know, I can’t fill her shoes,
no one can take her place.
Just know dear friend, I’m here for you,
till you can see … her face.
