Love Poem: Man

Man

New life to dead he brings
The long silenced choruses his hands make sins
Scraps of wood, bits and pieces, fragments he molds
Restoring the soul of this battered wood that he holds
He believes in the dirt, the wood and the water
His care softens what life has pressed harder
His heart and spirit are still and guarded,
By the cold distant world cruelly bombarded
Pain he’s lived, strife he yearns to avoid
His peace and serenity often destroyed
His eyes have grown sadly tired and distant
The claws of his demons sharp and insistent
I wish he could see with his eyes as I do with mine
A man strong and noble and fine
A man deserving of love and care
A man confident, unique and rare.
So much like the wood he loves and fashions
He ignites my desires and fuels my passions
If I could only make him know, believe
This woman was born to meet his needs
Feed his soul, his heart, his mind
His resting place in me to find.
Serenity a touch away
It waits for him yesterday and today…..
