Manifest
A lover of my love,
From the tiniest to the grandest part of myself,
An essence of you will always live in me.
Where life goes and where death ends,
Your voice carries the weight of the known,
Your face—ever familiar.
I never knew how much I loved
Until separation came.
In the darkest night, you arrive like light,
Like a lover, you held something—
A charm greater than beauty,
A silence deeper than anger.
There are many reasons not to like you,
Yet even more to fall in love with you.
I am not a philosopher seeking wisdom,
Not Shakespeare writing the deepest poetry,
But I write how I feel away from you
After being your neighbor.
My eyes remain fearless to see you,
No matter who bears the heaviest burden.
From the city of trains to the city of temples,
I paused time itself
To touch your heart and feel your heartbeat.
I manifested you.
