Married To Life
Married to 'Life!'
Hey, I'm married to 'Life,' she's a wonderful wife,
Most adventures? Enjoyable drama!
Sure, we go up and down, (psst! she's wannabe clown),
Our connection is far more than comma!
Though you may think me coarse, that my cart precedes horse,
I suspect that 'Divorce' is my future.
Though don't crave new dessert, more old friends seem to flirt
With her! 'Reasons to stay' need rhyme's suture?
In 'Divorce' no complaints so far! No one's a saint
But "no news is good news" sounds assuring!
With 'Divorce' there's no rent (if she's not 'heaven sent'),
And some days that can look more endearing.
Would you miss me? How much (should I slip out of touch),
Here's my poem, where's yours? Last time phoning?
Hey, my poetry rhymes too, if ‘less with the times,'
Hope to 'Hope,' my rhymed verse shares not stoning!
Oh, let 'Hope' be more real, than 'Divorce' (that I feel
Looks so tempting at times)! Am I dreaming?
Is 'Hope's' real charm that Love’s (symbolized by a dove
Who brought olive leaf) poetry ‘streaming?’
Though I yield to time’s needs, and eternity bleeds
Bones dry, let me divest, (no resentment),
All my wealth to the ground, and pain (often profound),
As a guest, hold dear ‘Life’ in contentment!
