Missed

Missed

The distance from here to there
is longer than I dreamed it would be.
I thought I could visit often,
with you, and with me.

Yet the world is against us,
and time is spinning the clock.
The arms are too heavy for me to stop,
or stand in the way.

I am sorry,
and I miss you.

We would laugh all day about nothing at all.
We would go places and get lost.
We would swim in the creak,
back float in the ocean,
and ride in pirate ships...
out to sea.

We would climb mountains in the distance,
that few have names for,
and many are scared and afraid of,
but we would still go,
and watch the show.

We would climb to the moon,
and eat the cheese,
we would go to the edge of the verse.
We would look out across the black hole at the end,
and know that life is worth living,
together with friends that are not afraid.

My world is less crazy now,
and things are nearly silent.
But my memories are full of fire,
and I will never tire...
of remembering you.
