My Children
My blessed children
Would that you could know
A love as I have known.
A kindred flame so glowing,
The knowing gentle hand of God.
Touched once and ever held
My heart could not release
Such boundless bliss,
Impart by given text
All tears to spill.
For this love,
This only ever once, my love;
Enters where there is no space,
Gives birth where none have borne
And permeates the fibre of my soul.
I cannot be, but this, forevermore;
And my children, oh my lovely children,
Could I give but one more gift to thee;
To love like this, for all eternity.
