My Feelings
Everyday I come home
and sigh...
hoping that tomorrow will go better than today
or
wishing to hear from you
or
both.
It seems as if every time we get close
you slip away....
cowering away from my grasp...
why?
I get the feeling that you like me.....
after a year of not speaking....
your actions speak one thing
your words another.
There's the usual surprise thunderstorm
and you're gone again...
it's all getting repetitive.
And although I see why I need to...
to let you go...
I don't want to...
I want to keep you.
I've tried that once....
keeping you....
it didn't work.
I've tried that twice....
keeping you....
it didn't work.
I've tried that....
keeping you....
but all it seemed to do was tear us apart.
So now I'm giving you up.
I'm letting you go....
trying to forget everything about you....
and what you mean to me.
Am I letting you go with hopes to bring you close once again?
or
Am I really letting you go...?
