Love Poem: My Foolish Heart

My Foolish Heart

At no time could my heart ever discern reason,
Yet, I tried in the wildflower years to be smart.
Nebulous weather wisely varies every season,
But there is no wisdom in an enamored heart.

Yet, I tried in the wildflower years to be smart.
Sometimes, I really thought I had succeeded.
But there is no wisdom in an enamored heart,
Like a bleeding sun when day has been ceded!

Sometimes, I really thought I had succeeded.
We could have made beautiful music together,
Like a bleeding sun when day has been ceded,
And blue jays fly away with birds of a feather.

We could have made beautiful music together!
Nebulous weather wisely varies every season,
And bluebirds fly away with birds of a feather,
At no time could my heart ever discern reason.
