My Old Man
My dad still walks around in his old ball cap
Worn front in center and never to the side
He is not afraid to check the map
And has a heart a mile wide
In the afternoon you can bet on him taking a nap
Its his old Ford Bronco that he takes pride in
and has always said its ok if you don't win
His soul has a western spirt
If hes got a dime you know he is willing to share it
He talk about the old country days
and the simple country ways
Its always been American Made
And blue jeans with a worn in fade
You can count on him to keep his word
To never double cross or follow the herd
Morals are at the top of his list
But there is not a fight he could not settle with his fist
John deer tractors, four wheelers and bond fires
Are things of which he never tires
He talks about the Gift family farm
And all of its charm
Its he that keep my world so small
And helps me up when I fall
Try as I may to find a man
The bar he has set
Is a standard Im not sure can be met
