My Stolen Heart - Lost Love
I wept when my love for another, fell,
and I, in his sea, was a discarded shell.
A pain so deep it ached down to my bones,
so oft' I asked, "will I always be alone?"
My heart was weakened by his wily guise.
He swooped in like a hawk with intended lies.
In the dark of night, he slithered away.
Like a venomous snake, he struck and then strayed.
When summer grew bright, his poison seemed gone,
so I looked for the strength to carry on.
But skies went gray on the morning he kissed
the long-legged girl with the lips that I missed.
Each passing day, tidal waves I now tread.
My heart has been broken, so I live in my head.
