My Summer Love
My sweet summer love took me to the beach,
it was just a fling, crush, a short romance;
I adored him so and my hand did reach,
for this man who had kept me in a trance.
We had come to watch the sunset fall,
standing on a sun warm rock- we embraced;
the sky was changing but it was a crawl,
he held me close with his hands on my waist.
The sky above was pale blue, mauve and gold,
mingling and merging- the sun falling;
love was soon ending with words still untold,
around us a hundred birds were calling.
The golden sun fell into the night mist,
and summer love at last- my red lips kissed.
