My Sweet Valentine
She was my sweet valentine...
Thirty-five years wedded; we shared our lives,
Walking through the best and worst of times.
Comes the time when only one survives
The other left to journey on alone,
Only memories of happier days remain.
Now that she is gone, I smile
Remembering, reliving each special day
Together.
As always, I purchase a valentine...
Place it beside a single red rose in a vase
Spend a few moments gazing on her face.
She was my sweet valentine.
