My Winter
What is the howling wind outside
Compared to the scars I hide?
What point is the coldest season
When my heart has been wronged by treason?
The whitest snow or the darkest night
Cannot erase the betraying sight
Of you, my dearest Lover,
In the arms of another.
As I lay down on the ground
I know I will never be found.
The love I had and lost
Is too high a cost.
Frigid fingers caress my skin,
As I surrender the hurt within.
I feel Frost’s breath on my face
As coldness seeps into every place.
The snowflakes falling down
Will softly in my tears drown.
My world turns to grey
As I give my last breath away.
