Night Vision
Come and visit me tonight
I want to have a dream
And wear your grandma's coat, okay?
On you it makes you gleam
I remember when I saw it
You had it on that night
Last December at the dinner
You were quite the sight
So elegant, so beautiful
Your hair was golden brown
I imagined being out with you
For an evening on the town
Such an honor it would have been
To be seen walking with you
A living, breathing, dream girl
It just couldn't be true
That perhaps you'd let me take your arm
And stroll with you a while
Just the thought it could have been
Gives cause to make me smile
It's here my captive musings
In writing get set free
The ink of want and longing
Makes for good poetry
