Love Poem: No Quarter

No Quarter

I love the righteous soul,
got no love for the wicked one
I love to lay my head in the bosom
of those who have hearts of gold

I am a Christian warrior,
like the mighty men
who surrounded king David
in bygone days long ago
To my Lord, I only defer

The weapons of my warfare are spiritual;
Truth is my two-edged sword,
faith is my invisible shield
Prayer are the spikes
in the mace of my devotional love

I contend with the enemy at the gate
Give comfort to the poor
and outcast rejects,
give bread to the famished who hasn't ate

I was cut from the Rock;
I'm as hard as they come,
I don't flinch
I give no quarter
I won't yield an inch

I was cut from the Rock,
and was given a voice to shout:
The Devil's time is running out,
these be the days of the final tick-tock

I romanced the Stone,
embraced all of His holiness
My sin nature has grown less and less
I live to do right, not wrong

I was cut from the Rock;
I'm as hard as they come,
I don't flinch
I give no quarter
I won't yield an inch

I am a Christian warrior,
I contend with the enemy at the gate
To my Lord, I only defer,
to be a martyr for the gospel is a beautiful fate
