No Sin To Atone

Romeo’s left bereft, ill tidings his Juliet’s dead
Kneels beside, placing a kiss upon her head
Trembling in despair, she feels so cold,
Decides to search the afterlife, rejoin her soul

Chalice of poison, sits upon tables near
Drinks it down, whilst choking back tears,
A destroyed man, desperate beyond woe
These his final words, so my story goes

First time we met, I finally felt whole
Oh what tenderness, sweet longings behold
Those beautiful eyes, captured my heart
When you spoke, an angels voice took it apart

We shut out feuding memories, kept open minds
Our families mutual hatred, was all cast behind
Sharing real dreams, whilst walking alone
Healing raw scars, etched into our bones

Looked at each other, only beauty was seen
Now a past reflection, of what could’ve been
Why are we in hell, condemned for no crime
Our life was heaven, even the stars realigned

Tomorrow was predestined, then faded away
Now I lay here moribund, beside you, today
As Romeo drew his last breath, Juliet awoke
Somehow she heard, loving words he just spoke

Darling Romeo lies dead, limp by her side
Utter tragedy befell, on the turn of one tide
Without hesitation, she unsheathed his sword
From Juliet’s broken heart, blood starts to pour

Placed her arms around him, in gentle embrace
Finally together, never again shall they awake
What purpose holds sorrow, when love ends in vain
Death the only known antidote, to kill undying pain.
