Love Poem: Not In a Rush

Not In a Rush

I don’t want sin for a season, I want love for a lifetime.

It is a curious thing, this thing we call love.

We think we find someone who seems to fit us like a glove

We enjoy them, they enjoy us

We laugh, we cry, we feel,

there is give , there is take

We give in, we walk away, we come back again

There is love between us, yet the love cannot be allowed to grow

Cause the ground is shallow yet, too many rocks, to many stones

This man I have fallen in love with.

I tried to save my heart

He has allowed me in for a little while, for how long I do not know

He reaches out, he does not want to let me go

So I wait, yet I want to move on, do not want to waste my time

I feel him, I feel his heart, I hear his words

Conveying to me there is something deeper

Something more real, more concrete, more strong

Not willing to allow it to just fade this song in his heart

So I will wait for a little while, I will see if the waves will recede.

Not in a rush, waiting, Not running nor retreating.
