Nothing More To Lose
As shadows set and day departs,
dusk bruises the sky black and blue.
And like a billion bleeding hearts;
the sun adopts a crimson hue.
Infidelity's surreal;
severing my heart in mid-beat.
And although your love isn't real,
leaving is a difficult feat.
Wounded feelings fester within;
as the sun abandons the sky.
For tomorrow cannot begin;
with the words of a whispered lie.
Filling my heart with fear and dread;
depression and anger compete.
And when I think of what you said,
I'm blown away by your deceit.
I don't know why your love didn't last,
and I question my heart for clues.
Yet all my dreams lie in the past;
and now, I've nothing more to lose.
