Of Friends, Be Careful

OF FRIENDS, BE CAREFUL.

So many have been destroyed by those they called friends with a free spirit and an open mind,
For he that would destroy you the fastest is he that is cherished by you and close to your side.
Around those we term foes, we're alert, but with friends, we tend to leave our vigilance behind,
And that could be so fatal, for not all around you have good intentions which their hearts hide.
Some friends are angels, but hard to find, that's why you need His help who knows how all are,
For an enemy-wolf could wear the wool of a mild sheep, disguising perfectly just to get to you.
In his evil-filled soul, he's seen that the distance of glory in destiny twixt you and him is very far,
And he'd do all to ruin you; beware then lest you be made to the day you took him in deeply rue.
Be wary of them you call friends; be not so lonely to the point of bringing all into your life's tent,
Sometimes, loneliness is better than being choked by men, for solitude reveals the way ahead.
But we can't be lonely always, we need those with whom we can the portals of our hearts rent,
Yet in choosing, be careful, for it is better to be amongst lions than to with an evil friend tread.
Be not suspicious, for in being suspicious, you'd foolishly the good and bad in a basket gather,
Be free minded yet savvy, for truly, good friends are, and there is a friend closer than a brother.
