Once An' Future
There was a once upon a time.
She cried.
He lied.
We sighed,
As you were walkin out the door.
It was nothin once before,
And now forever more.
Once and future king,
Where are you,
Without your Queen?
Haven't you grown tired, of sayin what you don't mean?
Maybe we'll find, "once" again, somewhere inbetween.
A time for moments now, that twist, obscene.
We may trespass the holy of holies, the tighter we cling,
Our breath cold, and bodies steam.
We got the time we need.
There were times when I thought beauty, a way,
The way your thoughts blew me, betray,
What I thought before steppin', through the door.
What beauty had been now, lies before.
You whom I saw in songs of summer, sunsets.
But do now truly say, with no regrets.
I have known no other beauty, than your eyes.
I sit there now even, hypnotized
Probing a depth I cannot grasp
A promising future, and a softening past.
Well I was dethroned from the womb, we disowned.
To the world here now, though I'd find you any how.
'Cause I am but a peasant, who worships my Queen
And in your eyes, the once and future, ever-rising king.
