Once There Was a Love
Once there was a love; that was ours to hold
Of dreams that came true, folklore that's retold
My heart recalls what is best forgotten
Of love so tender, joyful and giving
Thunderous rapture, heaven begotten
Ripped apart by death, so unforgiving
Now I know not how to go on living
Beauteous sunsets now fill me with dread
Recalling how we once walked hand in hand
I retire each night to a lonely bed
Ways of God unable to understand
With nowhere to stand on this holy land
Once there was a love; that was ours to hold
Of dreams that came true, folklore that's retold
