Only You Can Save You
11 years of pushing back the tears
11 years of shutting myself away in my room
Of drinking my pain away on this day
I almost made my own tomb
After I discovered the sad truth
That life is unfair, and only You can save you
Im glad Ive finally I've come to the place
Where the fact that He died
Does not ruin my whole week or day
Now I decide to talk a walk by the lake
And remember a Man I once knew
Now I happily recall the short life that He lived
And the people He affected deeply
For we were so much alike
And it was in His nature to give
My lovely rescue walks me halfway down the road
She purrs and chirps a sweet song
As my thoughts before me are almost projected
A very handsome man who had 32 years of life
But raised his 2 brothers and helped many
He was so loving, at 23 I almost felt like a wife
I am truly happy that I chose him and
He chose me
Although He was poor,
He was so generous with any who needed support and companionship
For me, Forever running ahead to open the door
And opened his heart always to Others
I remember the letters addressed to me
With His last name, as people thought we were married
Arriving to the house we Once lived in together
It's just a pleasant memory now
But some things can't and won't last Forever
Even if at the time we want them to
Because life has other bigger plans for you
He is something I could never and will never forget
And once told me, in a dream,
That Now He rests and looks on happily
With other members of his family
And that, of me, He is truly proud
So I continue my peaceful walk by the lake
Now that I feel in my heart He's at Peace
It almost feels as though I'm walking
On the clouds
