Our Journey
From a hill top, we traced our journey here
through virgin snow we carved, then disappeared.
From a cloud top, the sun through heaven rolled
until it fell and splashed a yellow-blue.
Smooth mounds of white raced away
like ripples on a silent summer pond and
left no trace of where they started nor end.
We sketched our love upon each other's souls,
then carved once more a path that's only ours.
Across the meadows mysteries were solved,
once hidden in a relationship so new;
much like snow, the truths beneath would hide.
Tall soldier lines of birches on the crest
threw long thin shadows across the white -
like ribbons of a past now lost and gray
and hidden edges left beyond a prayer
tempt us with this way we must explore.
We started two - in one we disappear...
