P-C Poems 23 and 24
Poetry Challenge poem Number 23
======================
I almost wish I had declined
This challenge which I am inclined
To finish now that I accepted
It's harder than I had expected
But sweetheart had presented
This challenge now lamented
But he loves me, and thus to show it
A nudge to help this dry spelled poet
P.C. Poem #24
=========
Always a pen was in my hand
Poetic books ever so grand
Fill bookcases and little nooks
I love the masters, and their books
Dickenson and Stevenson
With a lot of rhyme reason
Poe with chilling words that haunt
With "Nevermore!" the Raven's taunt
Those words have haunted me at night
Where is my Muse?? I cannot write!
The haunting words of "Nevermore"
Echoing through chambers, behind closing doors
But then my dear became the muse
"Accept challenge? Or else refuse."
So here I sit and type away
Another poem for the third day
