Peace
Everybody sitting there
Thinks I killed myself that night
But they are wrong, so very wrong
I didn't kill myself, you did
The coffin placed beside you
Holds my body cold
But that body is naught but flesh and blood
It doesn’t hold my soul
I had given my soul to you, my dear
The day I slit my wrist
It’s a wonder that you do feel the pain
Of the death of one not missed
I remember the day so clearly now
You stood there crowned in flame
I offered you my self, my body and my soul
But you just laughed and turned away
My soul left me that night
Through rivers of tears and blood
I cried so hard as I sliced the flesh
And watched my sorrows drip into the mud
They found my body lying there
Cold as ice and white as rain
Another suicide they said and took me home
And even then you felt no pain
Rest in peace says my headstone
But what would it know of peace?
Peace is alien to me today and forever
You're the only thing that brought me peace
