Perfect
If only we were perfect,
Perfect minds
in perfect bodies
hearts full of love and understanding
complete and whole
one
with the universe at large;
we are a people lost
imperfect
with deaf ears
that forget how to listen
with blinded eyes
that refuse to see
these human hearts and unseen souls
forgo the mysteries of life
living for
something more, someone greater
than we are
and so we remain struggling
imperfect beings.
