Perfect Day
Steal a day
Just one
And take a ride
Down a dirt road
Without a map
And a cold beer
Between your legs
Cigarette dangles from your lips
Not a worry in the world.
The sky is blue with wisps
Of horsetail clouds
The flocks or birds swirl and swirl
The sun is cryptic not really there
Yet you feel the warmth beneath your
Loosely worn yarn sweater
Your hair blows finely in the wind
The yellow bandana holds it own
As the day goes on you realize
That you only need love to be by your side
You reach across the seat and squeeze her hand
She looks back at you and you know her mind
A quite brook a shady tree
You spread out a blanket for a picnic
But lust overtakes you and you make love
Lying there snuggled up tight
You realize that you love her so
And squeeze her just a little bit more
The sun begins to slide behind the trees
One last kiss before we go.
A perfect day stolen in time
