Perfect Peace
held contempt was i before the rain,
cascading downward into my reverie-
i lathered in what used to be a dream,
not knowing what i could have had-
with you by my side
you are an elision of a masterpiece,
what used to be beaut,
now coarse-
what was once whole,
now shattered;
an omission of guilt flew away with
the ravens of the night
i stand alone inside a shadow-
he comforts me when weary;
i face dreary days without a reason
to awake,
and i am never granted permission
to be who someone who was fake
the crepuscular grey moon shines not-
for the dusk has become what dawn
always dreamed of-
a crystalline PROMSIE of PERFECT PEACE
i shall carry hope in my pocket,
wear faith on my sleeve-
believing that one day i too,
can rise with the sunbeams
and
sleep with the stars...
with you by my side
