Phoenix Days
the first rays
of phoenix days
for one second shadowed
as a fateful hand sweeps
the last drops
& in the gathered pool
awakes a green-eyed goddess
bearing a once-barren chalice.
sweeps a seed into the cup
filled but never complete
sweeps the sleepless nights
erased by insights
pouring me inside
blank emptiness
complete, now never filled
by my side you’ll
be scribe to my secret,
leaving the rest
to misty waters.
i’ll hold your hand as you
wave goodbye, pulling
you into the other side.
