Please Don'T Tell My Heart
If you must go, I'll understand.
I won't stand in your way.
If there's nothing now that I can do
to make you want to stay.
But, when you leave, I'll ask one thing --
before the hurting starts.
If you really have to go,
please don't tell my heart.
Please don't tell my heart
that you must go and I must find
another place to start.
I'll tell my heart in my own way --
Just quietly depart.
and, if you ever really cared,
please don't tell my heart.
When you are gone, I'll miss you so
and live with all the pain.
But, I'll get by as time goes on
and learn to love again.
My one request is simply this--
If we must really part --
If I must find love somewhere else,
please don't tell my heart.
Please don't tell my heart
that you must go and I must find
another place to start.
I'll tell my heart in my own way --
Just quietly depart.
and, if you ever really cared,
please don't tell my heart.
