Precious Gift of God
When I met you the first time, I didn’t know,
across the splendored springs of yearning years
to fast friendship the encounter would grow,
that would endure amidst all smiles and tears.
We walked the garden path of deep desire,
felt the flower called love bloom in our heart,
I burnt in you like a fly in the fire.
We’d vowed then nothing would set us apart.
As our twined footprints fade in trail of past,
by my side you're my best friend I now see.
While the twilight gleam of old sun wanes fast,
I know you’re the precious gift God sent me.
In my journey through the tempest of life
I’m not lone, you’re with me ever, my wife.
