Love Poem: Push

Push

Leonard Cohen
heavy dusk curtains
blinds choke afternoon sun
arch lamp
low light tangles
plaid consignment couch
hot glass Irish Whiskey

4 days died in February
a moment
remained silent
she stayed home
famous last words
I'll run out in that storm
but I'll let you go now

I'll let you go believing
  4 days in February
you go on believing
you go on
GO------- go deeper into dark
black heart

unraveled kitty on yarn string
played your crummy gee-tar
see you in the pawnshop
every lonely night

desire tan brown legs
belt wrapped around waist
the Cali sun burns
beach blonde hair in ocean air

close sexy whisper
ear a flame
let me walk you through it
it's going to be fine
everything will be fine

come with me
I'll walk you through my garden
mysterious sultry voice
reassured cracked hum
long bottle

germinating seed
reaching through cracks
breaks of
oxygen mixing in water
mixing in sunlight

pushing through resentment
abandonment loss
all sediment

flower stem rising
a toddler yawns
awakening sleep
sweet slow
confident stretching arms
closed eye smile

so light headed
straining to see
the shale that rises
feet swell and sting

it's no garden
circle shiny path
pieces of glass
wounds bring feet
to halt
sleek long neck
roll away
