Quiet Steps, Gentle Hearts

Quiet Steps, Gentle Hearts

We move with caution, step by step,
Two hearts seasoned by the years.
You speak less of love, your words kept close,
Guarded by memories, by distant fears.

I’ve learned to wait, to watch the signs,
Your smile—a fleeting sunrise.
Though you rarely give what others might,
In your quiet gaze, affection lies.

The past has shaped us, left its mark,
Yet here we stand, still yearning slow.
I offer warmth in steady waves,
Content with what you choose to show.

For love at our age whispers soft,
It knows the weight we bear inside.
In moments shared, in silences held,
I feel your heart, though words may hide.

So take your time, I'll walk beside,
In this gentle, cautious dance.
For even as the years go by,
Love finds its way, given the chance.
