Real Life
Real Life
By Rick Rucker
I have had a wonderful life,
Without too much drama, or strife,
Recently, doctors have had their way with me,
They have let me, my mortality see,
I’m waiting for the results of my latest test,
If it will determine the date of my Eternal Rest,
A short time ago, I wouldn’t have cared,
But now, I am a little scared,
I have found Life’s greatest gift,
A Love so unreal that it can lift
My Heart on my darkest day,
Turn the sky blue, from darkest gray!
Suddenly, I want to forever live,
I want to always give,
My Love to this magical creature,
Replete with every captivating feature,
That any man could want,
With them, she does taunt
Me to be so much more,
Than I’ve ever been before.
I find myself running just to stay in place,
To earn another look at her lovely face,
She is so much more than me,
I know that I am totally unworthy,
But, until she figures it out,
I’m happy to stay about,
Gazing at her Heavenly Face,
Surrounded by her aura of Grace!
