Reconciliation Day
Your perfume lingers in the car.
The radio remembers our favorite song.
Young lovers stroll by, hand in hand.
Those hungered sighs of passion stir again.
An Earth bound Rat searching for his Monkey Cat
lost in a dream.... worlds apart.
The cause of which has made us blind.
The effect quickens, as nothing less, then stolen time.
The setting of a chokehold has now begun.
Never the time to see what we've become.
Spinning, spinning, round, and round.
Trying, trying, as we're falling down.
Like borrowed hands, and two grains of sand,
falling fast, through the hour glass.
Merely just passers bye, clinging to each others side.
Curse the day, and mock the sun; for the rags of time have surely come.
Pain zeros in on the mark, striking arrows, through the heart.
Our cries of hope, and sorrow beg; from out of the thickets, on this day.
