Regret
Regret is a venomous thing,
Oh what vile bile it brings.
Starting somewhere deep in the heart,
Ripping, stripping you right apart.
Watching clocks as all the thoughts tick,
This time you hope it does the trick.
Scampering circles gallantly,
Through the mind's thick briars and trees.
In the distance, I fear I see,
Someone I love staring at me.
Much too far for me to impede,
I can't build the courage I need.
