Remember
Remember, when we
were new in love,
In high spirits, and
scared of none;
Oh! We often had
long walks together,
Laughing loud and
having fun.
When we were poor
but pure;
We were Godly and
good.
We were mere,
Nature, my art,you
and I,
And always thought
seeing at the skies,
His nicety loves it all.
And ah! We had in
that erotic innocence
Vowed— again and
again,
On a sunny spring’s
day
In that meadow had
stony walls half-
fallen,
Reclined alongside,
long, under the
almond tree,
A sparrows-pair had
a heated discussion.
