Remembrance
Through channels of these drying throats
where feelings root as barren rock
and soulful breath moans its passage
in the ghost town streets of youth.
Remembrance stalks this gathering,
the time dying coil of passing years,
a haggard net of love devoted
laid seal upon each crying child.
For it is the child inside us cries,
sweet tears and laughter integrated,
memorial of your shuffled gait
and orange lipstick smile so soft.
How you were loved so very dearly,
in silent tribute we extol
the virtue of your life and passing;
reverent tears, farewell bidden, you
shine through their cascade
