Sand Promises
I never will forget our sunny days
and how we strolled on the beach hand in hand.
Like flaming twilight, our souls were ablaze,
We’d end up on our blanket on the sand
and feeling magic as we watched the sky.
Its sun slid brilliantly into the sea.
We sat there wordless – quiet as a sigh -
nobody else around – just you and me.
As night grew cool, we’d cuddle underneath
our blanket, sharing one another’s dreams.
Your plans for us filled me with such wonder;
a future as beautiful as dawn’s first beams,
but like the sand, those promises slipped through
our fingers; bittersweet are thoughts of you.
