See Me Now
See me now
I once had a wife and a home
Now I'm in a cell all alone
Thinking of ways I shouldn't take blame
And defying reality from all shame.
I once held a reliable position
Had keys, even made a transition
But if you see me now I'm nothing
Because I played with life's blessing.
I once owned a fancy car of pleasure
Now all I own is a cell that measures
Eight by eight by a huge sixteen
reminding myself that my life was a dream.
But still there is something I own
And that's pride for its shown
That patience loves to wait
For time is its only mate......
