Seeking Serenity
I loved you and you never knew
Of my torment, my temptation and fear
What was illusion? What was true?
Oh, the tangled storm of my feelings for you!
Yet, my heart did not belong in your sphere
I grew weak from all the hope I bled
I trod the path of possibles to infinity
But my joy curdled only to pain instead
Until, to seek sweet relief of disbelief, I fled
I had to see, it would never be, for my own serenity.
