She Loved To Hear the Rain

She loved to hear the rain
     Nature’s gentle lullaby
Tapping rooftops with its chorus
As she lay in bed

She loved to hear the rain
     A sympathetic sonnet 
Keeping time with the thoughts
Dancing ‘round in her head

She loved to hear the rain
     In solace, I remember
She’ll hear it now forever
Neath the blooms of white and red
