Shells To Sand
Time trickles by,
Sand through an hourglass,
Painfully slow.
It takes a day,
for a single grain to
fall.
It takes a year
for the clock's second hand to
thock forward.
It takes a millennium
for an hour to
pass.
Let alone a day,
a year,
or ten.
Shells turn to sand,
faster than this time goes
by.
Waves of dark watering,
Shattering stunning,
fragile calcium against the rocks,
In the moment that you turn away,
Time stops,
and I am left all
alone
once
more.
